Filming - new voxpop

when the teacher evaluated our work he told us that the voxpop we originally planned to use was all wrong due to the eyeline being completey wrong because they are not looking to the right side of the camera but looking either directly at the camera or the opposite direction.

so we booked the digital equipment and spend lesson and our own free time to get footage.

we ensured that they loooked at the right side of the camera by positining ourselves to the opposite side that they where standing.

we mostly asked older people as it will look more professional and right when we ask the question; what do you think of young drivers?'.

filming - Interview with Laura and Charlotte

For our driving documentary we wanted to create a comparrison between young and old drivers so we have interviewed Angela Lloyd Prince an experienced driver and students Laura Woods and Charlotte West who are new young drivers to see a comparrison and a variety of different answers.
Here are the quetions we asked
1.How old are you?
2.How long have you been driving?
3.How long did it take you to pass your practical test and how did you find it?
4.Do you feel intimated by other road users?
5.How do feel about music being played in the car?

We filmed all these interviewees in the same framing, medium close up sitting in the drivers seat facing the camera positioned on the left with the eye line a third of the way down.

For our final 5 mins we put al the answers together so it goes from each person and their answers with an instrumental music to add a fun and professional effect. Here is an image of us editing.

filming - glyns interview

As part of our doumentary we wanted an interview with somebody who drives as a profession to show variety in our documentary so we interviewed a workman from Brandon Tool Hire about driving and his career.
The first attempt was quite good with the mis en scene outside surrounded by planks of wood to reinforce his job on the road and his roles, the eyeline was correct with good clear anwsers.
Also we collected video footage of the work van including company logo and warning signs.
The footage we collected was a good take but to ensure that we had enough footage we redone the interview as a sound interview only to ensure the interview looks professional.
Here are the questions we asked him;

1. What is your job?
2. What does that job entail you to do?
3. Does it require you to drive and why?
4.What is it like driving as a profession?
5. Would you recommend the job?

filming - chris kelly interview

we are creating a documentary on driving so we arrange an interview with one of the most recognised driving schools Chris Kelly. We rang the driving school and asked if we could arrange an interview with one of the driving instructors because our original plan did not work because the RAF officer did not contact us despite all our efforts. the actual chris kelly the owner of the busisness said we could interview himself.
the interview went really well we got brilliant clear answers with a professional mis en scene of him sat at his desk with a name plaque to say who he is.
lastly we filmed him in right of frame with the eye a third of the way down.
we are going to use the footage for our end result as it was a good take.
here are the questions we asked him;
Here are some screengrabs to show this interview and us editing it;

filming;car logos and filming break road

To get extra footage for our documenatry we filmed car logos in a near by car park to our college which is situated by a motorway so we got footage of motorway signs and other vehicles. we will use the logos as part of our title sequence and the other footage will be used in cutaways to vary our final 5 mins.
The images of the day that we taken got deleted from the camera so there are no images.
