filming -cheshire oaks

This was our first attempt at filming for our driving documentary. It went amazingly well and our ideas worked brilliantly. We positioned a camera on the car dashboard to create a point of view shot and filmed some parts of the journey including the motorway, other roadusers, learner drivers, changing gear, music and also parts of the car including the back of the car and its logo.
We also got a number of still images aswell which we can use for our documenatry as cutaways and montage of clips.
Overall we got some really effective shots and footage which will be used in our documentary as it was a good take and will have a professional factor to the end result.
We got video and still footage which will be really useful and effective for our documentary.

filming -pics and info on voxpox liscard

Last week our group went to liscard with a vc camera and tripod/micophone to film our voxpop which is "what do you think of learner drivers?" we went to a number of different places including the local car parks and town centre after setting up the equipment. We asked a number of different people but it took us a little more time than we planned as not many people where willing to participate as it was being filmed on camera but luckily we got enough people for our voxpox with variety in the age groups but it will did to be redone to ensure we have enough correct footage. Another problem we had was that on some interviews the mircophone did not work so we lost alot of good footage.

Filming - test centre day

As part of our documenatry one wednesday afternoon we visited the Wallasey driving and test centre in hope to collect leaflets and footage for our driving documentary by interviewing an examiner or the manager. We went inside to speak to an instructor or examiner but we got no attention from anybody who was there.
We filmed all the leaflets on the wall and certain parts of the centre which were mostly on safety and rules and regulations for driving licences and insurance. However we did gather all the interviews and footage we had hoped as we where approached by the manager who was not very friendly or suportive of our documenatry. He asked us not to film any aspect of the building or people as it is a goverment building.
We feel abiliged to leave by his comments so only gathered certain information and footage.
so therefore we walked the streets and collected footage by photographing and filming learner drivers, traffic lights, public transport and road signs.
we tried to film people at the garage close by but they showed us a none permission slip so we were declined again but here are some images to show our work for that day.
overall the day was not as secussful as we hoped but we collected other footage that we didnt plan on which will be helpful in our documentary.

STOCK FOOTAGE - planning

Here is our groups stock footage that we have gathered including newspaper articles, diaries and leaflets to be used in our driving documentary. we booked a camera for one of our media lessons and photographed them all. The information gathered is from different sources including newspapers, personal diaries and leaflets sent through the post, images taken from notice boards and advertisments. most of the footage is to show road safety,records/law and incidents that invovle driving.
